Based in Fleurus and initially specialized in air filters, Belgian company Deltrain International started production of surgical masks "made in Wallonia" last month. It is expected that 60 million masks will be produced per year and the number can even go up to 90 or 120 million masks depending on needs. The first masks will be ready to use before mid-July.
Walloon government ordered the first 5 million of these masks. 4 million will go to Wallonia's strategic reserve and will be crucial in case of a second wave. Furthermore, masks will also be provided to hospitals and nursing homes.
