Covid-19 vaccine developed by Oxford University will be produced jointly by European leader of the production of viral vectors, French company Novasep and biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. The production operations will be carried out in Belgian site of Novasep which is located in Seneffe. According to the recently signed agreement between European Union's Inclusive Vaccines Alliance (IVA) spearheaded by Germany, France, Italy and Holland and AstraZeneca, at least 300 millions doses of vaccines will be supplied to member countries.
Vaccine tests have already started. If everything goes as planned, the vaccines will be available in October. Even though it is not certain yet, it is expected that the vaccine will be protective for about a year.
